When I first started the steamsounds web site back in the late 1990s I used free hosts such as Lycos and Tripod but soon the site and its bandwidth requirements outgrew them and I began paying for a web host that could cope and at first the costs were quite reasonable.
In early May 2002 I was at the Ffestiniog Railway while they were running an event entitled Ffestiniog Interactive where participants could pay extra to have cab rides, shadow the guard and even drive. When I got home I found I had just enough recordings to almost fill an 80 minute audio CD and thought I'd see if I could sell a few...

After that first audio CD more followed eventually totalling over 50 volumes the sale of which kept the site going for many years.
The next few disks, aside from two more of my Ffestiniog recordings were just regular volumes of mainly recent recordings, mostly without any particular theme:

I've always been happy to produce disks for preserved railways or loco owning groups to sell and the first of these was to help support 6201:

on the main line (April 2006)
Audio CD produced for the 6201 Princess Elizabeth Locomotive Society
Around the same time I produced another disk for the Yorkshire Wolds Railway; Wolds Steam, and this one is still on sale in their online shop at present for just £4. See this page.
Later still I produced another disk for the Gainsborough Model Railway Society which also may still be available at their open days. If you spot it, please let me know.

time of 10 days(!) complete with notes and database driven software to
help find and play the recordings.
